Tech intensity = (Tech adoption x Tech capability) ^ Trust

As days move on, people will adapt themselves to technology and they’ll start building software of their own to solve their real-time problems. Trust plays a major role in Tech intensity. Satya going to walk us through the updates around all these tech intensities.

Tech Intensity across GitHub, Azure, Power Platform, Dynamics 365 and Microsoft 365

GitHub

These numbers are interesting. The hiring of software engineers growing 11% faster in the non-tech industry than the tech industry and also the number of software engineers growing 3X rate of mechanical engineers in the auto industry. All these made possible with OctaCat(GitHub).

The Middle East and Africa are the two latest regions for Microsoft Azure. Microsoft takes the cloud to the edge.

  • Airbus has azure stack powering many of their critical operations.
  • Kroger has azure databox edge both at the end caps and powering their smart shelves with computer vision.
  • Shell makes use of commodity cameras in every gas station with again containers with computer vision to drive safely.
  • Occuwear is a startup that takes azure to connect and ensures the safety of patients in hospitals.
  • Starbucks makes use of Azure Sphere – a microcontroller that’s connected to azure. And it is also known as the smallest compute node of Azure. There are 9 billion microcontrollers that are shipped every year.

Azure HyperScale

Here come’s the biggest announcement. Microsoft was trying to build a limitless data estate for the last 7 years. And here comes, Microsoft Azure SQL Hyperscale. It brings limitless scale capabilities to SQL Server with full compatibility to all your applications. In the future, this hyperscale capability will also support other relational databases.

Rohan Kumar – CVP, Azure Data jumped into the core note to give a demo about Azure Hyperscale.

Wow! Hyperscale is mind-blowing. Auto-scaling of the database can be easily done using hyperscale. And also it takes care of Auto-scaling whenever it’s necessary.

Azure Cognitive Services

Next, come’s up Azure Cognitive services where you can make use of speech, vision, etc. Julia White – CVP, Azure Marketing jumps up to show a demo on those Azure Speech API’s.

That was really cool! The same hologram of her was at the stage and azure speech API translates the English language to Japanese.

Hell Yeah! The Future is here!

HealthCare in Africa is very challenging and also they have to travel long distances if they want to consult doctors for their needs. Dr. Raymond Campbell, Phulukisa Health Solutions built a cloud-enabled backpack which can solve most of the diseases. And also Check out the below video to see the real experience of this backpack.

A detailed discussion went on with Satya and Raymond about these backpacks. And also Raymond briefly explained about AI and SQL used in these backpacks.

Power Platform & Dynamic 365

The next two magic numbers are 500 Million and 73%. 500 Million apps will be created in the next five years and 73% of data is not being analyzed. From now onwards, Dynamic 365 & Power Platform can be called as “The world’s connected business cloud“.
